District hospital gets an eight-bed dialysis unit

An eight-bed dialysis unit began operations at the district hospital this week.

Patients from four talukas were until now travelling more than 120 km for each session.

The unit will run two shifts a day with two technicians on each shift.

Officials said a second unit is planned at the sub-district hospital next year.
