IMD issues heavy rainfall alert for six districts over next 48 hours

The weather office issued an orange alert for six districts, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.

District administrations have been asked to keep relief teams and pumping equipment on standby.

Schools in three talukas will remain shut on Monday as a precaution.

Reservoir levels are at 71 per cent of capacity, ten points above the same week last year.
