State cabinet clears Rs 4,200-crore irrigation package

The state cabinet approved a Rs 4,200-crore irrigation package covering canal lining and 42 lift schemes.

Nearly a third of the outlay is earmarked for micro-irrigation subsidy for smallholders.

Work orders for the first phase are expected before the end of the quarter.
